Onion Juice Therapy for Cancer is a concentrated method for absorbing as much of the beneficial elements from onions as possible, specifically for the treatment of various forms of cancer. While supported by widely recognized scholars in the Sufi tradition and practiced for centuries contemporary scientific evidence is limited outside of new studies that have proven certain varieties of onions to be much more effective than others in fighting cancer. These studies are spawning new interest in how to increase the consumption of onions in your diet and how best to administer onions in fighting cancer. The medicinal use of juices is common in {juice fasting} which is recommended for a wide variety of illnesses.

[edit] Reasons for onion juice therapy

Additional reasons for undergoing onion juice therapy include the new scientific studies that have been performed by Rui Hai Liu, M.D., Ph.D., a chemist with Cornell’s Department of Food Science in Ithaca, N.Y that shows a strong correlation between onions and the effects they have on cancer.[1] Onion Juice Therapy has been prescribed for hundreds of years by natural practitioners such as Sufi healers. Evidence for the long history of onion juice therapy in fighting cancer can be found in books like Natural Medicines, Traditional Sufi Healing Methods which is reprinted on the web with permission under the title Introduction to Natural Healing, .[2]

Additional resources pointing to the potential benefit of Onion Juice Therapy are most often reported in countries like India where natural and holistic health remedies are more commonly combined with modern medical treatments. Onions are often combined with other vegitables and recommended for many different ailments. As with all juice therapies, raw fresh juice is always est. [3]

"The evidence on cancer prevention with onions suggests a benefit for some but not necessarily for all types of cancer. Onion consumption at a level of at least half an onion a day was associated with a 50% decline in stomach cancer risk in one study. Higher onion intake was also correlated with lower risk of breast cancer in a French epidemiological study. No protective effect against colorectal cancer was seen from higher onion intake. [1]

Onion Juice Therapy is a method to provide the highest concentration of onions to the system in the shortest amount of time. Abstaining from food intake for one hour after treatment and drinking the onion juice first thing in the morning before any other food or drink is believed to provide a more favorable and concentrated result. There are no studies to date that can verify these assumptions, only evidence that this has been the accepted mode of administering onion juice for centuries. [4]

[edit] Overview

Some practitioners recommend a 40 day course of onion juice therapy as a preventative measure before cancer ever develops. Living in the toxic world as we do, prevention is always best. Onion Juice Therapy for prevention is most recommended for people over forty as the incidence of cancer increases after this age. [5]

"Complementary and alternative medicine modalities according to the WHO are practiced by about 60-70 percent of the world population. Some of these falls under the classification of 'folk medicine' but others are provided by professionalized health care practitioners trained in their particular modality. They include such varied modalities such Chinese, Indian and Tibetan traditional medicine, herbal medicine, and homeopathy. These modalities provide a form of treatment that largely lies outside the current dominant 'biomedical' paradigm but which is a viable complement or alternative to this paradigm, especially in such complex chronic diseases such as cancer". [2]

While there are few studies regarding the effective use of Onion Juice Therapy in the treatment of cancer, onion juice has been incorporated as a main ingredient in various juice fasts that have claimed to have eliminated cancer in many patients. [3]

If cancer has already developed, a forty day course of onion juice may be performed without delay. According to Sheikh Adnan Kabbani, an acomplished scholar and Sufi mystic, "Onion Juice Therapy can not be performed in conjunction with chemotherapy or radiation". Therefore, a decision must be made to decide if a 40 day course of onion juice is advisable with your particular condition. It is highly recommended to consult your doctor to determine if trying an alternative method is advisable before starting other forms of modern cancer treatment. Many people will begin Onion Juice Therapy as sson as they suspect cancer. THe process of diagnosing cancer normally runs in excees of forty days. Testing for cancer should be repeated after therapy to insure that the cancer is no longer present. If you find a marked reduction in the size of a tumor or other benchmarks, you must then decide if repeating another 40 day course is advisable before opting for modern treatment.

Selecting medicinal onions is of paramount importance in performing Onion Juice Therapy. Most organic and other onion growers are focused on producing sweet onions.[4] The best onions for Onion Juice Therapy are the pungent variety as verified in the above referenced material and work performed by Cornell University. The studies performed indicated that the New York Bold and Western onions were two of the best varieties to fight cancer. [6] While there are other methods for the consumption of onions, onion juice provides the highest concentration in the shortest amount of time as juice is more easily digested and more quickly consumed. Eating a raw onion is much more difficult than downing a small glass of juice. Raw onions, as with other raw produce, fruits and herbs, are widely understood to be more beneficial. [7]

The practice of using onions to cure many illnesses is very old knowledge and has been recommended by Sufi's for hundreds of years. As described by Shaykh Nazim Al-Haqqani who claims to be carrying knowledge of Prophetic medicine that he has inherited by his spiritual connection with the Prophet through the chain of saints. He explained that there is a dormant cancer in every human being. It doesn’t awaken except in certain patients. If we touch the cancer, it will go crazy. Instead of going slowly, if we touch it with a knife the cancer will go wild and spread. He said the best thing to do is to take onion juice. The Prophet Muhammad (saw) said that although onion and garlic have a bad smell, they are cures for 70 different illnesses that cannot be cured by any other means. So people of Allah (God) recommend onion juice.[5]

[edit] Method

It is best to obtain organically grown pungent onions, preferably grown in the same soil where you live and spend the majority of your time. The common reddish brown pungent "yellow" variety is best. Be careful, sweet onions can look much like the more pungent brands. Also, "organic" does not mean they have been grown to maximize their medicinal qualities. Most organic farmers are, like their non-organic counterparts, focused on appearance and size. Hey, it's what sells!

Ideally, you want to purchase or borrow a juicer. If you do not have the money for a juicer, it is possible to juice an onion with a small plastic hand juicer such that is used for juicing oranges by hand. It's really nice to find someone willing to prepare this for you in the morning so all you have to do is drink the juice.

One medium size onion is normally sufficient to fill a Turkish tea cup or shot glass - full of onion juice.

Each morning before eating or drinking anything else drink a full Turkish tea cup of onion juice. It is normal to burn a little when going down and it will also tend to upset your stomach for several minutes. The worse your reaction the more you likely need the treatment - so be strong in your conviction to continue.

If you find it impossible to keep the onion juice down try placing a small amount of natural unprocessed honey in a shot glass of warm water. Drink half before taking the onion juice and half after. This should ease the difficulty and help keep the onion juice down. If at all possible do not resort to this method -- Drink it straight.

You must not eat or drink anything for one hour afterwards!

Stay on a very healthy diet - eating as close to nature as possible.

Repeat this treatment for at least forty days, longer if necessary.

Before you begin, ask yourself where all cures come from then dedicate the treatment to your answer. If you get the answer right you earn extra points and gain more healing benefits.

Hint: The Creator of all Things.

[edit] Possible side effects

One of the major benefits of the Onion Juice Therapy is the absence of any severe adverse side effects. A burning sensation and discomfort may results for five minutes or more after drinking the onion juice. It is also fairly common to see noticeable amounts of white discharge in your stool.

According to PeaceHealth.org,

"Most people can eat onion in food without any difficulties. Higher intakes of onion may worsen existing heartburn, though it does not seem to cause heartburn in people who do not already have it. There are also isolated reports of allergy to onion, including among people with asthma, manifesting as skin rash and red, itchy eyes." [6]

[edit] Criticisms of Onion Juice Therapy

The biggest criticism for Onion Juice Therapy is the delay it may cause in performing other methods of cancer treatment. This is a common concern and each person must consult with their doctor to determine what impact a delay may have on a particular form of cancer. Many people who have opted to start chemotherapy and radiation have only attempted using Onion Juice Therapy after more conventional methods have been explored and failed. While still only anecdotal evidence can be presented, many people have claimed to survive their cancer after being told they had no hope of a cure. Evidence proving these results will require further study.

Further information against the use of Onion Juice Therapy does not currently exist or simply can not be located. The absence of such information does not provide an argument for the lack of benefits that Onion Juice Therapy may provide. Nonetheless, the lack of available information is a concern because if the treatment really did work it seems it would be more widely addressed. [7] People are encouraged to do their own research and consult with practioners they trust who have a neutral and informed postion on the subject.

As a general precaution we offer the advice of Dr. Allan Greenberg,

"As a retired physician, I can honestly say that unless you are in a serious accident, YOUR BEST CHANCE OF LIVING TO A RIPE OLD AGE IS TO AVOID DOCTORS AND HOSPITALS AND LEARN NUTRITION, HERBAL MEDICINE AND OTHER FORMS OF NATURAL MEDICINE [i.e. PREVENTION]. Almost all drugs are toxic and are designed only to treat symptoms and not to cure anyone. Most surgery is unnecessary. In short, our mainstream medical system is hopelessly inept and/or corrupt. THE TREATMENT OF CANCER AND DEGENERATIVE DISEASES IS A NATIONAL SCANDAL. The sooner you learn this, the better off you will be". [8]
