Who - you stubborn and inflexible at times? No way! LOL! But I am in no way referring to you, nor really anyone else I can think of at the moment at CZ. I haven't really run into too much problem here in CZ, but in some forums outside CZ such as one very large flaxseed group on Yahoo, I am told that the moderators warn against oleander and just about anything else that is not specifically included in their protocol. On the one hand I can understand that some oil soluable antixoxidants and vitamins might interfere with the oxygenation that Budwig's flaxseed and cottage cheese imparts, but I do not at all believe that ALL antioxidants are bad for Budwig users or that their scavaging of free radicals caused by oxidizing is the same as preventing or interfering with oxygenation.
Budwig supposedly works by restoring cancer cells to normal cells due to the oxygen it provides and this enables those cells to then die by normal cell death and not be replaced with more cancer cells or multiply into more cancer cells. Oleander does not necessarily restore cancer cells to normal cells but it does induce and enhance normal programmed cell death via both apoptosis and autophagy as well as prevent cancer cells from multiplying and greatly enhancinc the body's immune system so that it can attack and eliminate cancer cells as it is naturally intended to do. As far as I can tell, the two items work together very well.
It is often a fine line for those of us who know a thing or two about items and protocols that have helped people beat and avoid cancer (and other illnesses too) between giving our best advice and becoming too protective of what we believe to the point of excluding other valid information. A great truism about cancer and many other forms of illness is that what works for one person may not work for another and it is important that we not let our own beliefs and experiences lead us into an inflexible attitude that excludes other options or get caught up in ego or turf wars that may work against what we are supposed to be here for - healing and educating (and learning). If there were universal cures, then there would be no need for all the forums other than having a single post of the correct protocol under each topic.
I often have to have to remind myself of such things and point my finger inwards to see if I find some of the same things I am pointing outwards towards. Sometimes what I find gets a bit uncomfortable.
Thanks,
Tony
