You are assuming the Bible is God's Word...yet the Bible never even refers to itself as God's Word.

I know that God can do anything...

Do you assume that God's intention is to keep the Bible as a pristine reservoir for the totality of his communication to man so that man may go to a book instead of to God directly?

Perhaps we should take the advice of scripture and:

"go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father who is hidden. And your Father who sees from the hidden place will reward you."
