Regular detergents have phosphates in them which vaprize into the air with the high heat of the dishwasher water and are very dangerous for your health. If you are so chemically sensitive, you have a heavy load of toxins/pathogens to cleanse, but I know you are aware of that.

The ecologically friendly ones are safer. Not to mention that there is residue on the dishes after the cycle.
