lol, you guys and your meal pics! ;-)
You know what I like for a treat? I cut an apple, throw in a baggie and toss w/ a bunch of cinnamon. Quite good. 2 people swear to me on apples w/apple cider vinegar and black vinegar. It's a Filipino thing - they eat a lot of pickled food and it's reminscent of that. I'm skeptical but I may try it just to see.
I think this is awesome! It's so cool that you haven't had cravings! I find that I want to snack more if I don't eat a big helping of greens often. It's odd b/c it's not my favorite thing to eat (although I am enjoying it) but that's what seems to work. Of course I'm learning about me still. I tried snacking on Kale leaves just now to take away cravings and when I bit in I was surprised that it was a little sweet. (I thought it would suck, lol.) And of course tasted of grass/chlorophil (sp?). But not bad really.
I think it's cool that your hubby is taking an interest. It gives me hope! Hey, is sparkpeople.com free? Oh - and if you're missing salt on your veggies, maybe try them with a sprinkle of spike. If you decide to have some wheat bread sometime, a great treat is veggie sandwich with mayo (bad? veggie-mayo?) and spike. Veggies I use: Avocado, Tomato, Spinach, thin peeled carrot, cucumber, alf alfa sprouts. It's da bomb, srrrrously.
Have fun, and I'm glad to hear it's going so well and that you feel good. Def try that Cauliflower soup (I gave the link somewhere, right?) - I think the whole family would like it. The blended kind with nutmeg sprinkled on top might be good for your son.
