Sounds as if you need to scale your dose of DMSA to your reaction to ALA. Perhaps you need a much larger dose of DMSA relative to ALA? Maybe that would allow you to raise your dose of ALA.

I know you mentioned calcium carbonate to replace the lead, but I'm wondering if lactate will work as well. I find lactate more effective for helping relaxation and sleep.
