I am new to this forum, so I will introduce with my experiences in liver cleansing.
In 1995, I did the Clark grapefruit and olive oil cleanse. I got about 50 small peas out. 1 years later, I did the lemon juice and olive oil based cleanse in the "Are you stoned?" book. I got out about 30 real gallstones. The largest was more than an inch long and 3/4 wide. Smallest of this type was 1/4. There were also plenty of non gallstone peas in there too. I believe the "Are you stoned" cleanse is superior for cleansing out the gallbladder stones which could threaten surgery. The Clark cleanse may be better for getting cholesterol deposits out of the liver.
My question is, Has anybody tried cleansing the liver by supporting the liver's natural cleansing mechanisms with nutrition. Cutting fat intake, Eating beets, lecithin, amino acids like taurine. Taking Liver Cleansing supplements like AF-Betafood and Betacol which are natural and been around for 50-75 years? Coffee enemas, etc, etc.
Beets contain betaine which causes bile to become less viscous (liquify) and increase its solvency in the liver. Seems a more effective and much less invasive process than the more mechanical cleanses discussed here.
After the last Clark liver cleanse, I resolved to never allow Epsom Salts to enter through my mouth again. The "Stoned" cleanse was effortless and painless and much more effective in removing my gallstones, but my liver remains sluggish, with food allergies , hypoglycemia and skin and hair problems, intolerance of fatty foods.
Thanks for your ideas and for this excellent and valuable forum.
