After taking Effexor (venlafaxine) for the last 6 months with no beneficial effects but some nasty side effects, I decided to stop taking it completely two days ago.

I'm having very unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. I was wondering if a Water Fast would help speed the process up or at least make me feel better? I feel like I need to clean my body out anyway. I've water fasted before but not when suffering withdrawal symptoms from a drug.

I've tried slowly bringing the dosage down before instead of going cold turkey like this, but as crazy as it sounds that made me feel even worse than I do going cold turkey.

Has anyone stopped taking a drug like this before and then started a Water Fast straight away? Did it help or worsen the withdrawal?
