Rainy Day, I agree with much of what you say. My advise for people wanting to find a church family is to not go to the big churches who have everything to offer them but find a very small church that they can offer themselves. Much different results.

Much of what I have seen happen is that some of the good churches which were truly God centered and God service to mankind were not exciting enough to keep the interest of the "me" generation. They went off to the mega churches where they thought they would "feel" something.

Feeling a connection is something very personal between an individual and God. It can be generated any place and at anytime but some people who felt like they could not generate that connection on their own, searched for a meet-all-your-needs type of church that they thought would provide that for them. In time their true needs are not met and the high wears off and they are worse off than when they started.

There is still alot of good that can be done when Christians who stay in touch with one another, work together to serve mankind. I much rather see the efforts of a large group of devoted christians go out and help the helpless with their tithes than expect the government to do it.

I still respect people's decisions to not go to church (building)but to still worship and seek out others who want the same thing. To me there is no difference, but I don't want to close the door completely on those who don't know to seek God with their hearts and with truth. If they stubble into a church searching for Him, I hope and pray there will be some gentle soul still there who will help point the true way with some one-on-one guidance for that person to find Him.

The internet is a wonderful place for information but it doesn't always have the
perfect hands-on loving touch that some people need.
