I agree Charly, many other components are involved and need to be considered. Liver Flushing has been a major tool in working towards getting my sick liver healthy, but along the way I've also discovered other co-factors to go with the large load of parasites: Epstein Barr Virus and Cytomegalovirus (both of which are known to hit the liver); bacterias- as Telman was mentioning in a thread below (and what the Bob Beck papers say are at the center of both Gallstones and kidney stones); fungi (aflatoxins as Newport mentioned); toxic chemicals (namely herbicides/pesticides that I sprayed for my work 10 years ago), heavy metals (extremely high level of Lead, for one); nutritional deficiencies, in particular Amino acids the liver uses to detox; food allergies (celiac); and what I feel has been at the bottom of the weakened immune system for 40 years without knowing it- active Lyme co-infections from when I was so sick from a tick bite.
I don't know that my gallbladder could have been saved, by the time it was found to only be functioning at 5% capacity, it probably was past the point of bringing it back- I'll never know. If there are bacterial/fungal/viral infections going on (with the parasites), Liver Flushing most likely by itself, without also addressing those problems probably won't be the cure-all people hope for.
Lots of co-factors to consider.
EDIT: One other thing to consider- HCL
