seems to be disappearing rapidly. I just came accross a quote from George Soros that the Euro is likely to completely fall apart. If you apply contarian thinking to currency, meaning that if some dummy like me has heard about it, it's probably about to do the opposite, I am now wondering who George Soros is helping out by publicizing the miserable state of the Euro.
So will it go up, or go down?
Gold bumped up today, there is no way that the current sell off of assets by people who have run out of money, and are now selling gold, can meet the demand. It's probably going up again tomorrow, they are advertizing it on tv, unless you are a contrarian, who will say that that means it's topped out.
The only reason that I can think of for the continued strength of the USD is that we owe, we owe, so everyone who wants to collect is holding up the currency. It's like someone who owes you money, and just pays you a little now and then, just enough to keep you from filing a suit, so you keep your hopes up of eventually getting paid back. It also keeps our manufacturing handcuffed, our products are more expensive than anyone else's.
But if you were a CEO of a failing bank, no problem, you got your bonus! (Courtesy of the US taxpayer, thank you to tarp!!!)
Maybe you guys who believe in a Mad Max scenario are right. But then the only thing that will be worth anything at all will be gasoline.
So who knows..... I haven't got a slight clue what's going to happen next, I don't think anyone does.
