good question you pose, csb. my answer...probably not. "saved" jobs, more times than not, mean that the business model can't sustain them. thus, jobs need to go until a level or plateau of profitability arises...and is comfortably sustained. do detroit autoworker jobs need to be sustained or saved? complicated answer. everything in detroit revolves around them so by the sheer numbers affected, i gingerly say..."yes". i don't want to say "yes" but the collateral damage forces me to. in a purely business sense i would say absolutely not. if amerikans don't buy your product, for whatever reason, fold and do something else. should the horse and buggy manufacturers have whined to the gov'ment that cars were ruining everybody's paycheck and future? lol...boy i can make a good point!!
