Could you tell his Mom and maybe she could break it to him gently?

Or maybe buy some breath spray or breath mints and place them in his bathroom or someplace where you know he will be???

I really had to smile when I read your post. I face this problem daily in dealing with the public and I have often wondered why SO many people have bad breath!!
