Zappers are less powerful than a TENS and therefore less likely to cause extensive injury. I just suggest keeping the electrodes outside of the mouth and below the cheekbones.

I personally have applied the electrodes to the temple area on a few occasions because I was eliminating skin cancer in that area but it is not something that I would suggest that anyone else should do.
