It seems to me that people seem to be gravitating and holding more strongly than ever before to their religions, racial identies, or extreme hate filled ideologies. Who knows why it is; but it seems so. So, let them have it. To be fair though, there aren't that many here; and noone really bothers responding to messages imbedded with hate or irrationality.
