I have never quite understood the place of debate forums here that have little or nothing to do with health and make little or no contribution to healing. I suppose the forums do generate traffic and interest but I would also opine that they are a source of taint, at least in the way people are allowed to smear and attack other members (those alert buttons don't seem to work very well) and they end up turning away people who would otherwise have remained to contribute to this site. Or worse still, remained to be pointed in the right direction for solutions to their health issues.
Having said that, I will note that my opinion has not prevented me from jumping into the mire with both feet far too often. I guess it is like driving by a car wreck - you just have to slow down and rubber neck. Or maybe I just like a good fuss sometimes? For certain I have never been slow to offer my opinion . . .
You know, one can make a legitimate argument over Ron Paul's letting so many of those newsletters go out in his name and the excuses of not paying closer attention do ring hollow - even to a big Ron Paul fan like myself. Nevertheless, his public utterances and his voting history do not demonstrate racism at all (even though some wrongly condemn him for voting against extending civil rights on constitional grounds).
The bottom line, Ron Paul did say quite publicly and unequivocably that he accepted moral responsibiity for the newsletters and he, and we, would best be served by moving on in my opinion. There is no better friend to natural health and health freedom than Ron Paul in congress.
I too abhor racism. It is equally dispicable to those hate mongerers who resort to personal attacks and name calling slurs when anyone disagrees with them. The alert button appears to be equally dysfunctional in both instances.
When it comes to racism though, one person's view of racism may be another's view of fixation. Both are a form of illness when carried to the extreme, and both are difficult to tolerate. Some would say that blanket condemnations of ALL Ron Paul fans is pretty overt racism itself.
I will be kind and call it merely fixation and add that I hope you stay - other than your Ron Paul fixation, you have demonstrated time and again that you have a wonderful heart and are, in my opinion, a valuable member here.
Just my two cents,
DQ
