I would suggest for you to "TUNE IN" to your inner voice - learning the difference from random thoughts vs your inner voice.

What helped me was when I have agreement between my mind and my mental heart. IE it makes sense AND it feels true - this helped me to begin to tune in to that still small voice was saying. For me anyway, working on this and acting only on the "logical and feels" thoughts - had amplified my "feels" or you could say my heart. I simply call it the "real me" - that which I was before I was born and shall be after I die. My spirit is the very best guide for my path in this 3D world of duality - or polarity. good-bad  right - wrong etc are but opposite poles of the same thing.

There is truth in all religions - but just enough to trap to mind. Give em a little truth to hook em and lock then in with BS mind control and create flocks of non thinking sheople.

There is great info everywhere - you may like to simple take a walk by yourself in nature - the feelings are stronger by water like a river or lake but it is everywhere. If one seeks to listen to the beautiful force of life - creation - flowing rivers of life/love/peace... The source I like to call it - the I AM....

Bottom line is we are here to experience life to the fullest- listing to your inner spirit will guide you onto "your best path". Which will be quite different then what you likely think would be best for you :)...

There are NO wrong paths, you just will get many more lumps on your head (in my case very thick head)- so to speak by not trusting your inner spirit - which IS the real you anyway -   

My inner voice is leading me to inner healing - such that I can increasingly love myself - showing me that - I am as a bucket and love is as water - only as my bucket fills over can I freely give love to those around me. Flowing from abundance -  Well I got MANY holes in my bucket and can't get it filled... so to speak. Slowly the holes are being patched/healed and I can hold more water - even starting to splash some around onto others which seems to generate even more....

So it is exciting and at the same time difficult. For only through change/or letting go can change happen in my "inner world" - which will eventually manifest into this 3D world around me. 

I hope this information is helpful. I have poor command of the english language even though it is the only language I speak...
