that is my story completely the same thing (except worse happened to me during pregnancy) even the hands thing ...it was a living night mare to try and hold your baby with cracked raw sometimes skinless hands and also to be so sick and tired.
at the time i knew I was Iodine def. so I loaded up on seaweed soup 3 or 4 x's a day my Korean friend literally made me do it because that is what they do after childbirth ...eat tons of sw soup. I think my breast milk turned into ocean water and the baby loved it she would eat the soup at 7 mo's old up until almost 18 months (she is very smart too!) Anyyay I did not do it long enough I was just too jacked up and tired ...lugol's would have been much easier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did not read anywhere on her website about iodine??? Did I miss it ? or were you just sayin...hello lady GOT IODINE?
