After 3 years of constant yeast infections, headaches, body aches, stuffy nose, weight gain, and just being plain mean to everyone, I finally had the Mirena removed. I had Mirena put in when my son was 18 months old in 2006 and had it removed on 1/04/09. I have to say finding this site is the main reason I went ahead and had it removed despite my doctor telling me I was wrong. I finally told him I wanted it out and nothing was going to convince me to keep it in. He's a great doctor, but all I can do is cry when he tells me it's all in my head and it makes me sad that he is suggesting this terrible thing to other unsuspecting women just like I was. This is the first time I've posted and I have to say thank you to everyone for making me feel at least a little less insane! So far, I am one week Mirena free. I do not have a disgusting and uncomfortable yeast infection for the longest I remember in the last year. However, I started bleeding one day after having it removed. My doctor told me I wouldn't have a period yet since I just got off mine before he removed it. But he hasn't been reight about anything. Anyway, I though maybe this was just a period, but it's been a week of mild to heavy bleeding like one would experience on the first day of their period. Then Sunday came the breast pain. The only time I've felt this kind of discomfort is when my milk ducts were full when my son was nursing. Can anyone help who's had this issue? When will the bleeding stop?
