i came to this thread late, after it had shot off in all directions, so i waited to see how it panned out.

i certainly agree with grz in that there are toxic people. no one knows like i do how difficult a "difficult" relationship is to overcome all on ones own in order to find peace in which to heal.

but i do see the other side, too, because i was not able to remove myself from the toxic personality. i have gotten well in spite of this and am a lot stronger for it.

the idea is not to avoid everything in life we find unpleasant but to develop so that we become the kind of person these things dont bother. i take that back, have no effect on behaviour. our OWN behavior. we can be the rock that the stream must flow around, a tree, planted by a river and whose leaf never withers.

but you gotta start somewhere and if it means avoiding certain people for a time, i am all for it. i think people should take a month off every year and health spa. this time of year is perfect. of course, our society sees such things as laziness and nonsense. thats why theyre all sick.
