they recommend 500 micrograms per kilogram (dry weight) for dairy cow feed.
If a person eats a pound of that food in a day, that would equate to just over 200 mcg.
so it's not much above what they recommend for human apes, at 150 mcg per day.
It's way low though, the article states that the only known fucntion for Iodine is in thyroid, which shows their ignorance, deliberate or otherwise.
If the dairy farmers ever found out that increasing Iodine would increase the growth rate of their livestock, well, wouldn't that be something now ? If I had a calf, I'd feed it at least 100 mg a day.
I'd bet a race horse that was raised on Iodine would be among the fastest.
