Yes. But most people are born in such unfavorable positions, I'm not sure anyone knows what the intended form of the body actually is. Maybe nobody has known since Adam and Eve.

"What about after the illness has passed but evidence of the condition remains, like when a broken bone heals improperly?"

Bones only heal improperly because the body wasn't healthy enough to heal them right the first time. I believe that if you knew the exact path to true health, and you followed it long enough, all blemishes/imperfections/injuries/malformations would heal themselves, regardless of how old or how severe they are.

Of course, such a "total rejuvenation" would likely take a very long time. And things often get worse before they get better. You would likely have to suffer through lots of pain and weakness before achieving your perfect health.

"What is your stance on 'immortality', as in indefinite life-extension?"

You would probably have to learn how to become breatharian to stop necrosis. Even healthy foods contain compounds which damage the body. But, much less so than holiday cookies, for example.

But with the proper diet and lifestyle, you could probably live a couple hundred years at least. More if you were experienced with fasting and meditation.

"What is the purpose of death and what 'happens' when we go through it?"

Death has no purpose. It simply is. If there is any purpose to death, it is so that next time we reincarnate we may learn how not to die.

As far as what happens during death, I'm sure you'll find that out one day. I'm not in any particular rush to study death, when I can spend my time learning how not to experience it.
