Thanks for the response Shellycat, can't be my gallbladder - that went to the great incinerator in the sky many moons ago :). When I saw what you wrote about lemon stimulating the digestive juices I wondered whether perhaps I already have adequate or a little too high HCl in my stomach, and the leomons stilulating production might increase the HCL level too much resulting in pain etc... Dax
