Nettle leaf and schisandra berries would be my first choices. Both strengthen the kidney blood vessels and tubules. Nettle leaf also dissolves both uric acid and calcium oxalate stones.
Schisandra is also good for the adrenals, liver, eyes, and immune system.
Nettle leaf also supports the adrenals, liver, thyroid, intestines, nervous system, and helps to control inflammation and allergic responses.
As for milk thistle supposedly being the best for the liver, I disagree. It is the best known historically, but this does not make it the most effective. There are quite a few herbs I prefer over milk thistle as far as liver support goes. For example turmeric, schisandra berry, and phyllanthus. Turmeric is equally effective in protecting the liver as milk thistle and is a much stronger antioxidant. The advantage of milk thistle is its ability to stimulate regeneration of liver cells. They do this anyway, but milk thistle accelerates this process.
