I do have type 1 juvenile diabetes. And I was diagnosed w/ hypo a few months after I had my daughter. I've read that that type 1 diabetes...can lead to hypo..as well as type 1 diabetic women who have given birth can develop it shortly after.
Everything else is fine, no other health problems. I always complained to various doctors about my hair and nails. My test would show everything was in a normal range. No one would listen to me, or take my hairloss seriously once they saw the thyroid results looked fine. I understand the test won't always pick up certain problems. A dermatologist recommended I take 5mg biotin.
I went on a parasite/colon/heavy metal cleanses, took biotin, modifilan, acv, coconut oil, ate a healthy organic diet, and alot of other supplements...and my hairloss eventually stopped, and my nails grew healthy again. The great thing was I was not on thyroid meds at the time I got better. I had completly went off my meds during my natural protocols. So something worked. I don't know exactly what had helped my hypo then, because I doing everything at once... That was about a year and a half ago.
But my hair is now starting to fall out again. I don't believe the levothyroxine helps...it never seemed to stop my hairloss, that is why I went off and tried the natural/herbal route.
I'm worried I had let my blood sugars run high for a few months..perhaps that was my downfall to all this...
I'm actually starting everything all over again, the cleanses, modifilan, iodine, etc..trying to drench myself in healthiness.. hoping that my hair will just stop falling out. I'm scared the levo will make my hair fall out worse since that is sometimes a side effect...so I stopped taking it a few days ago.
Really confused and can't talk to my doc about it. I don't even go to him anymore because we are just not on the same page. He thinks the cleanses are dangerous...and insists the thyroid meds do not cause the hair to fall out...when this is well known.
