I just want you to know that I could have written your post about 1 year ago. I had the mirena put in November 07 and 2 days later I started having sharp, Arthritis like pains in my hands and forearms. My arms and legs felt really heavy and I was way scared. I then started having chest pain and my husband suggested that maybe the IUD was causing this but I didnt believe that could be it till I found this website and found out woman were suffering just like me. So 10 days after having the IUD put in, I had it taken out. I was told I would feel better right away if it was the IUD causing these symptoms which my doctor didnt believe it was. He also wanted to test me for Lupus and all autoimmune diseases. I felt good for about 4 days after I had it out and then I crashed and it all came back. Then my left leg started tingling/buzzing and I freaked out and just know I was dying. I talked and talked with my OB and he was pretty confident the IUD was not causing this and wanted me to go to the neurologist which I never did cause I believed it was the IUd and I wanted to wait it out. Well, a year has gone by and its been the hardest year of my lift but I have been getting better. My symptoms come and go but each time they stay away for longer and longer. My main symptoms now are left leg and arm muscle aches and join pain at times. I also have muscle twitching all over that comes and goes. My muscles on my left side fatigue so much faster than the right. I dont know what it is about the left side but numerous woman have complained of this symptom. I am so glad you found this website and can soon start your road to recovery. There are some great woman here who you can find lots of comfort from. Keep us informed and Good luck.
