Hey Steve,

I give you all due respect for adhering to the rules of the forum and I think you are in a tough situation regarding this since as you pointed out it has been going on for years, and as someone said (I don't remember who) there are grey areas in the rules.

"Now things are a little different here, we don't actually any apply any treatments, we just don't eat. But as many of you know, that can cause harm if done wrongly (as experienced fasters such Fonty ad others have warned) and while you average person may not do that, there are many who come here (posters and non posters) who have eating or emotional disorders, and may follow that path. The consequences for some people are very serious illness and death, far worse that using Clorox to whiten your teeth."

"Furthermore it's a slow process, and the person who tries this may not be aware of how much harm is being done. As they say, if you drop a frog in boiling water it will jump out, but if it is placed in cold water and slowly heated it will not."

You have stated my exact concern, not everyone has a level head on their shoulders and those that don't will think it's ok to fast like she is trying to fast. I still believe that if someone is posting something about fasting that is incorrect it should be addressed by members who can point out the correct way. Not everyone who comes here goes to the FAQ section if they did we wouldn't have to worry about things like this.

I also agree with chirontherainbowbridge when she/he says regarding Lauray's posts:

"The Water Fasting is not actually water fasting. That's the part that affects this forum, where it begins to look like a haven for binge-fasting. Wasn't it Lauray who suggested starting a forum for those working toward a water fast?"

What she is doing isn't Water Fasting as I see it, and gives the wrong impression of fasting.

About the blogging issue, I agree with both chirontherainbowbridge and Chris:

"IN this particular case it's not even so much a blog entry (issue) as a blow by blow public account of the thought processes and actions that occur in one person's hellish (because it largely is, by her own account) experience. An experience that has little to do with Water Fasting, and more to with an idea of water fasting, submerged in a great deal of mental torture that sounds endless."

"In my view I think that a post related to Water Fasting support belongs to this forum, but a personal account as to someones daily ongoing life-experiences with the fast should be categorized as a blog and should therefore be only placed in a personal and open blog forum."

Maybe the Webmaster could update the FAQ and determine exactly what constitutes a blog so that everyone that does read them will know, and for those that don't read them and blog on a support forum, they could be warned privately by the Moderators that they are blogging and if it happens again it will be removed. That's the only thing I can think of that might clear up the blogging issue in the Support Forums .

Just my two cents worth.

Willow
