Thats why I think its important to look at WHY you were drinking in the first place. Self control is always valuable, and we definitely can just choose not to drink, it's not that hard, but I don't just want to NOT drink, I want to find real happiness and real self love and respect. You have to do look within and do the work on yourself, which can be hard but I'm excited about doing. Because its just like you said, you can hold out and not drink for periods of time but if you dont understand what triggers you to drink in the first place you WILL go back to it at some point.

I've figured out my biggest trigger is boredom and having no one around me that I can tolerate sober. When I have good, fun, funny friends around me I have no desire to drink because I love being around them! All the times in my life I got really wasted a lot was times when I was surrounded by absolute trash and felt like I was either going to 1) go insane or 2) get do drunk I could tolerate them. lol.. sad but true.

Thats why I never have any desire to drink by myself, I enjoy my own company too much! :)
