I strongly disagree with her. Phytoestrogens are not going to add to the estrogen load unless massive amounts are taken for a long period of time. The reason that so many phytoestrogenic herbs are used in the treatment of cancer is because they BLOCK the actions of stronger estrogens. And if we want to avoid phytoestrogens and phytoestrogen related substances, such as flavonoids, then we might as well stop eating because they are in nearly every natural food we eat.

Here is a question? If phytoestrogens affect the hormones the way she claims then why is it that women on the traditional Japanese diet, which is very high in phytoestrogens, do not suffer through menopausal symptoms? And why do they have an extremely lower rate of hormone induced cancers? Yet when they go on the average Western diet, lower in phytoestrogens, all of a sudden the incidence of hormonal problems and hormone induced cancers rise.

It could be as the hormones are being balanced that they might be going overboard as the body tries to find its new balance. Or it could be that she was also using progesterone creams at the time, which can also raise estrogen and cause imbalances. Or her adrenals, which produce these hormones as well, are out of whack. Just because a few people have problems does not mean this affects everyone this way. I know a lot of women who have used evening primrose oil for hot flashes. And I know a few that this causes hot flashes in them. Everyone is different.

And yes, Swedish Bitters has a tiny amount of phytoestrogens if the formula uses angelica. Each formulator has their own recipe.

I also see she recommends the liver flush, which does not really work. The so called stones are formed from a chemical reaction, primarily between the olive oil sterols and the cholesterol from the body.

I have been trying to warn about the dangers of progesterone creams for years on other message boards. There were so many people selling the garbage though that I had a lot of people wanting to lynch me for pointing out the dangers. This is why listing to sales sites about what they are selling can be dangerous. They want to sell products, and the are not always going to disclose known dangers.

I love lecithin, and recommend it quite bit. Keep in mind though that again it contains some phytoestrogens. As I said if you want to avoid phytoestrogens and related substances then you might as well stop eating because they are in our fruits, vegetables, greens, spices, and just about everything else natural you plan to eat. Makes we wonder how we have survived this long if they are so dangerous.

If you do go with lecithin, go with the granules since they are considerably stronger. The liquids and softgels are often thinned out with a lot of so oil to make them fluid enough to flow through the machinery. The granules are deoiled, and therefore concentrated.

Brain fog is common with hypothyroidism, which can occur from hormone imbalances. I recommend also doing your basal body temperature to see where your thyroid is at. Instructions are on the net. Don't rely on lab tests for thyroid, they are very inaccurate when it comes to hypothyroidism.
