I live with hypertension, have for ten years, manage with natural products which work unless I get sloppy about the regime. As I combed these pages, I see numbers and numbers of people's systolic, diastolic, over months and years. Consider this: 5-10 years ago, borderline high was 159/95. Who decided to lower it? Why? Was it to enrich our drug companies as they sell more of their junk? I've watched "acceptable" cholesterol drop from 230 to 199 in five years, and millions of people be put on deadly statins. Who changed the "acceptable levels" of cholesterol? If you are in your fifties, you have watched disaster after disaster from the drug companies. How about hormone replacement therapy for women--who all took it, and started getting cancer from it, oops, sorry. How about x-rays to clear up Acne on teens--my generation now has thyroid cancer, oops, sorry folks, didn't work. Who came up with the "silent killer" terminology? Some ad man thought it up no doubt, so we walk around in constant vigilance for the terrorist within.Do they talk about all the people on anti-depressants whose blood pressure is off the charts as a result, so they now need a drug company's pill( again )to pull the BP down. All my doped up, now dull but once fun to teach teens, I watch them now on BP meds because their ADHD stuff is raising their BP. Folks, life is a risk, we won't get out alive, but we've got to figure out where these "acceptable numbers" are being generated from. Follow the money, don't panic, experiment to find the cause in your own body/life, and seek sensible solutions. Just a thought.
