Hi Nadia,
I actually think that a lot of food addiction is caused by the SAD diet and does not have to be caused by emotional turmoil. Companies are putting things in food to make us addicted. Yes, I am sure food addiction is a type of eating disorder. It's all words. Nutritional deficiencies can also cause eating disorders.
