If you want one appliance to pretty much do it all you need a Vitamix blender. Most people into raw foods have a commercial blender and a food processor.
I personally use a commercial blender and a food processor. My food processor is a little Cuisinart Mini Prep Plus, which is fine for the small amounts of food I make with it. The blender is a Waring mx1000xt. I would not skimp on the blender. I have found a commercial blender to be essential.
