Thank you, my boyfriend and I are both very worried about her. We've been raising her for 3 years and never dealt with anything like this.
How did you go about draining it? What's the process? Do I apply pressure to the abscess? I read that if it's not fully drained, it will reoccur. She's a more heavy set cat, as she ballooned up after being spayed, and though she is still a shorthair, her fur is still pretty long and the abscess isn't visible. She also gets upset when I apply pressure near the area.
I'm going to continue with the anti-biotics, as we overpaid for them and I don't currently have coconut or oregano oil.
Do you think she'll be ok to leave at home while we are both at work, or should I take her with me? Taking her with me wouldn't be a problem, but she hates car rides. Is it cruel to isolate her in the restroom? I can't leave her food on the floor without the dog eating it, and I don't want her jumping up to the countertop where we usually keep it.
