Would you say that alkalizing is key to metal removal because if the kidneys are alkaline they function more effeciently at removing metals? And if the body is alkaline, other critters can't survive. I know pH is important, but I wonder if we have to do much about the metals if we stay alkaline. That's my HOPE because I am a long way off from removing any metals using chelation given my amalgams. And I hope that is protecting my son. I have tested his urine pH often and it is always 7+.
Jessesmom, I had testing done using a biofeedback method called ondamed. Several times cadmium came up. I bought some urine testkits for heavy metals, and cadmium came up high for myself and my son. My husband did not have high levels of a specific metal. He only came up medium for a conglomerate of metals. That test has definite limitations. My doctor has discouraged me from get a hair analysis since I had Amalgams and also a challenge test. She told me to get the Amalgams out first and then we could see what we were dealing with. I thought, I would try the urine test because it is noninvasive and cheap. I have no idea where the cadmium came from. My first child died when he was 18 months old so this has stirred up all that making me wonder if this was the root cause of his brain tumor.
