for me it was the mirena. i was schizophrenic/bi polar. suicidal on a daily basis. had a good life but yet mentally gone. i am not schizophrenic anymore. still have bi polar. i have not noticed the ups and downs as much since removal 8 months ago. it acts up when i have pms. i am definitely happier with myself more now than i have ever been. i wake up wanting to have a great day. that sensor in my head that says shut up, dont say that works for me now. lol
when i had mirena, i forced myself to go to the gym four months in a row 5 times a week. i gained 4 lbs!!! i know that mirena messed with my blood Sugar horribly. i had a few blood Sugar crashes. passed out the one day. i suspect i was diabetic. i didnt confirm that with the doctor because i was scared to death that they would confirm i was. i am overweight, but since removal i have lost 42 lbs now. it is awesome that now when i eat i actually get a natural high. endless energy, i sleep about 7 hours a night and wake up refreshed. i am so active now.
mirena side effects for the most part ruined my marriage. it turned me into a person i am not. how can a hormonal birth control not affect your hormones? these doctors know exactly what they are doing. google the effects of progestins in your body. you will definitely learn alot.
