Hi everyone,
I've been having some problems as of late.
#1 I've been suffering from severe insomnia for over a month now (I've had "epidodes" of them since I was a kid but this bad only about started when I was 19,I'm almost 21 now.) I've been doing some soul searching and found out every time I had an episode of this, I'd been worrying about something or have been stressed. Right now, my mom is very ill, my dad has had an heartattack and is still recovering and my autistic twin brother acts like he's in the middle of puberty. I understand the cause of my worries, but I can't seem to affect my sleep pattern. Right now I cheated death (or so they say) by staying awake for 14 days in a row. This was a week ago. I've slept some (averagely 2 hours) a night, but still, it's bad. My head is foggy, and I'm seeing things (when I'm really tired my vision goes out of focus making it seem something is there when there really isn't.)
#2 I seem to be suffering from hair loss. Nothing big, but when I brush my hair, a lot comes out and I cant seem to be able to remove the most gentle bands without pulling several hairs out. I know the avarage person loses about 100 hairs a day, but I seem to be losing like 400. I eat well; about 1700 cals a day and I don't restrict obsessively (I eat good fat and carbs, etc)
3# I'm also experiencing muscle aches. I've always been a sporty girl, but since the insomnia I've laid off the heavy sports for a while, especially because they make me even more tired than I normally am and afterwards I still can't sleep no matter how convinced I was that I could. These days, I'm fully focused on my family and on school, so most of the day I spend in a chair behind a computer, in the living room or at school. I walk the dog for 1 hour (spread out through the day.) So this can't possibly be the cause why my legs feel like they've done a major workout.
My own theory is that my sleep deprivation is preventing the muscle to rebuild and heal, my dad says it's because of the anxiety I'm experiencing. One thing I do know for sure is that we're both no M.D.
4# Minor thing: the skin directly around the eyes seems almost transculent: blue veins can be seen very clearly and I have to put on concealer every day to cover it up, while in highschool, I could do without.
I hope you can give me an idea of what might be going on with me because I'm going slightly crazy because of this.
Any insight is appreciated!
(P.s. if your advise it to get away from the stress factors of my life, no can do. I've got a degree to get and I'd rather cut off my right arm than leave my family right now.)
Additional info:
After some pondering (you might think I'm crazy) I decided to post some other weird stuff.
- for some reason I am able to "call" an adrenaline rush by concentrating on it. It's kind of hard to explain, but when I do, everything seems slower and clearer. I can "hold onto it" for a while, then it goes away. I recently found out that when I do this, my pupils dilate like that of a drug addict. Um...does this mean anything to you?
- my ears seemed to have improved. I used to have average hearing, but over the last couple of months I noticed I'm picking up high sounds that others don't. It's not in my head because it doesn't go on all the time. I can't listen to music at high volume either. My ears don't hurt or anything and it's not bothering me, but I do think it's slightly strange.
Okay, you guys probably think I'm a major nutcase who wants attention (my friend, for one didn't believe me) but it's all true. Useless, but true. *sigh*
If this stuff is ringing any bells please please reply!
