They say there are no 'accidents'...
My husband sent me this forwarded email...

I truly hate passing on bad news. What good does it do to make people feel bad?
I would far rather talk about what is better, and hope that it pulls people into happier, more wholesome ways.
But this may be connected to brain chemistry...especially when we consider all the false and substandard fats used in the 'food' industry today.
I was 11 years old when the margarine industry gave in to the dairy industry, and put the coloring into a little ball inside a kneadable plastic bag...so we shouldn't forget it isn't butter.
And then, of course, the dairy industry began conserving butter fat...to sell at the highest prices.
You would not believe the lengths these industries go to, to get paid more for less.
Would you believe 'storage' butter, where the stuff is three years old, and the 'rind' has to be peeled off before they mix it with fresh butter, for the taste?
That's why they salt butter, for taste appeal. Most people don't realize that they reach for more butter, when what they really want is the sodium...and THAT because they are missing the real mineral salts...which are not IN their foods because the soil micro organisms are not protected in our growing soils.
Now, I wasn't there when these policies were decided...nor was I there to see how these came into practice. But I spent 30 years closely connected to the grocery business.
Certain wholesale price levels are only available to large stores and chains that move X quantities of high butterfat products, or fluid ounces of milk. The little store, the so-called mom and pop store, doesn't have a chance to get those prices, and the profit percentages possible from them.
And, here, I am only talking butterfat...containing whatever the grower has decided to put into the animals.
Also, it isn't the farmer to blame.
The farmer no longer knows how to farm. All he knows is what salesmen have told him.
The wisdom of his forefathers on the land is a distant memory...besides, he only gets a pittance for what he is able to produce, anyway.
Henry Fonda starred in "The Grapes of Wrath." Well worth seeing.
Steve Allen wrote "The Land is Our Table." Ditto.
Now we have things like 'genetic mutilation' and Auxigro and irradiation. Then there is the whole mess called shipping...and the 'shelf-life' of varieties...and when things are picked...and what is done at borders.
You can uncover your eyes now...I won't talk any more about negatives.
Get to your local organic growers' association, and heritage seeds, and save your yard and water supply.
Your family and your neighbors need you.
And think about how your body has protected you all these years.
Wonderful things...bodies.
