The magnesium/potassium info I was reading in the Cutler book is page 98.
That's an interesting section, because it's also talking about:
---a person with low adrenal function is also very likely to be magnesium deficient
---Certain patterns in the plasma amino acid analysis, plus fibromyalgia, angina, muscle spasms, and finding oral magnesium supplements to be laxatives at doses below 600 mg of megnesium per day suggest magnesium deficiency.
-- Potassium deficiency often goes along with magnesium deficiency and sometimes must be corrected along with it.
-- Low potassium and sodium in hair or serum indicates primary adrenal insufficiency of some extent. Cortisol will also be lower than optimal. This will often lead to anxiety and Depression due to hypoglycemia.
---The problem is often due to poor magnesium absorption in the gut coupled with poor reabsortion in the kidneys. Supplementary taurine may help. Taking the magnesium supplement in the form of or along with aspartate or malate may also help. Magnesium helps potassium absorption.
