No, inositol is a B vitamin. Inositol hexaphosphate (IP6 or phytic acid)is a polysaccharide with antioxidant and white blood cell stimulating activity. Phytic acid is also the compound in soy that people think robs your body of minerals. This is anti-soy hype. Phytic acid does bind minerals, but it has a higher affinity for toxic metals than beneficial ones.
