I would take a good look at the source of any studies which claim beetroot juice is harmful.  Beetroot juice is a powerful cleanser and one of the best things around for the liver.  It helps cleanse the liver of toxins, helps keep the bile ducts open and flowing and is one of the most healthful items nature provides.
