Hello,
I was just wondering if any one has tried the whole thing about taking Diflucan every three days (as it supposedly stays in the body for three days). What sort of dosages are people taking to treat candida in the gut and systematic problems such as jock itch and fungal nail infections? (Of which I have both).
I have just read over William G. Crooks "The Yeast Connection" - what a fantastic book! He repeats alot of things over and over but it is highly informative none the less. He talks of Nystatin being a highly useful drug. HOWEVER after reading "Candida Albicans: Could Yeast Be Your Problem?" by Leon Chaitow (Also a fantastic book) I am sort of sceptical over Nystatin. Chaitow quotes Crooks as saying (in fewer words) that: he (Crooks) has treated people with Nystatin, and when they have come off Nystatin they ended up with a sort of flare up of yeasts. Nystain is yeast based itself but I'm sure if this is the reason people have flare ups when they stop taking it. I wonder if people who are yeast sensitive or have yeast allergies are actualy affected by Nystatin?. However Nystatin sems to be such an integral part of so many Candida programs...
I may well have leaky gut (awaiting several test results). I think it would possibly be wise for people with leaky gut to go on a program to heal the gut membranes before they try anti fungal drugs/herbal treatments as leaky gut increase your allergenic potential (people can become allergic to oregano). In theory though, anything you eat (including supplements) you can become allergic to. Rotation seems to be the key.
