Hi Lisa,

If the lemonade is too sweet for you, you can adjust the amount of maple syrup. Stanley Burroughs, who originated the Master Cleanse, recommended this if people wanted to lose more weight so I'm sure it would be fine to adjust it for taste, as well. You can still take supplements and they should digest...just make sure that you take them at least an hour before or after taking the psyllium & Bentonite (NOT peanut butter...LOL!!!). The niacin wouldn't harm you, but it may cause temporary flushing. This is actually a good thing because it increases blood circulation, but it can be a little scarey the first time it happens if you're not expecting it. It can involve feeling warm, skin turning red and sometimes itching...in case you haven't experienced it. I generally reserve any fasting I do for when the weather is warmer because I get cold during fasting, as well. I guess wearing layers is the best way to deal with the cold if you are fasting during colder weather. Perhaps you could take some of the lemonade warm...but not so hot that it is boiling which would probably reduce the nutrients in it.

You might try to do an enema yourself...it is quite easy and that way you have control over the process so that you will no longer have the association with the painful ones you had in the past. Just an idea...

Here's a little something to keep in mind when consuming flour products...even if they're whole wheat: They used to make wallpaper paste out of flour and water! Breads and pastas can really clog up your pipes! Lots of foods are mucoid-forming and you might be surprised by how much gunk you pass on the cleanse. Good luck with it! ; )
