Chiron,
Yes, the very best distilled water comes from fruits and vegetables which have purified the water they contain, but then this would of course be a juice fast or feast and therefore most definitely not a water fast.

There is the additional problem not touched on by the article that most fruit and vegetables are more deficient in minerals and other essential nutrients than they used to be, because of nutrient-deficient soils.

As far back as 1936, United States Senate Document #264 warned Americans that the soils used to grow fruits and vegetables were seriously deficient in needed minerals. Continuous cropping: fertilization with only nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium; soil erosion; and other factors have decreased the minerals in the topsoil.
World soil studies have shown that American soils are the worst in the world for mineral content, although this isn't really surprising since Americans have been feeding a large portion of the world for many years. We are now growing large amounts of food that in many cases are lacking some of the basic minerals needed to sustain life. Lacking vitamins, the body can make some use of minerals, but lacking minerals, vitamins are useless!

I am a firm advocate in supplementation because of the profound and very noticeable benefits from doing so and where the minerals I take to supplement my diet are colloidal (derived from plant life) and are therefore apparently 98% bioavailable to the human body.
Vitamins on the other hand are mostly unaffected by the soils as they are synthesized by the action of sunlight within plants, but even then these benefits are minimal and rudimentary compared to the success of Orthomolecular Medicine, which for the most part uses synthetic vitamins in megadoses to effect cures. My whole perspective on synthetics was turned around by a book entitled "Ascorbate: The Science of Vitamin C" by the World-renowned Authority Dr Steve Hickey.
