I had a string of panic attacks around the time I developed peeling lips. I never took anxiety medication and they subsided. Maybe hormones are the cause, lack of sleep may exacerbate your nerves.

As people have suggested, if you do a detox be sure to research it fully and make sure you are not taxing your system unnecessarily and you have opportunity to rest as well. I am about to try a three-four week all vegetable and fruit diet myself, which is a Bowel Cleanse strategy. Also giving up booze (and the one night stand).
