Well, Im confused too, so Im going to do some research.
So far just on a simple search I have found this:

Here is a chart for oils and temperature restrictions. This same site has some really good info on ghee as well.

This chart is a bit different, and I think even some of the temps run a bit higher than the other websites. But it has a wide range of oils listed here. Giving you the OIL SMOKE POINTS.

Doing the searches, I found that many of the sites differ from each other and it makes me wonder where they come up with their answers.
Im still looking for some good information on the effects of frying with oils, etc...
