Here's my story...
I've just been diagnosed with Gilbert's Syndrome (GS). I'm a little confused at how to deal with it and am hearing mixed storie's/remedie's etc...

One of which is that GS is acquired through life, whereas i thought one was born with this so called disease, or both a possibility?

In any case, is it possible to be wrongly diagnosed with GS? I have all the symptoms, fatigue, yellowing of the whites of the eyes, yellow tinge to my skin, this seems to fluctuate from time to time.
Knowing the cause of GS (Enzyme deficiency). Does this mean from a blood test with higher raised bilirubin levels, that i do in fact have GS? or is it a fact because i am deficient in that particular enzyme?
To make things more simplified, in this world of wrongly diagnosed cases, is it assumed that one has GS simply because of elevated bilirubin levels? (through a routine blood test mind)

I hear that a popular herb, Milk Thistle is a good one to use, but i also read somewhere on these forums it helps with phase 1 detoxification in the Liver and so therefore hinders phase 2, which is already considered a sluggish detoxification process in GS sufferers.
But then i believe not everyones breakdown of bilirubin, toxins & what have you, work in the same way.

Another thing that interests me is Candida overgrowths & Acne suffers who also suffer from GS.
I'm led to believe that GS suffers have a lower produce in bile and therefore makes the lining of the gut prone to Candida ablicans meaning they can stick to the intestinal walls and multiply there.
If this is somewhat the case, then i don't understand why there should be a lack of bile in the first place?
What i do know is a Candida overgrowth can manifest itself as acne.
And to what i find frustrating is, being an Acne suffer myself finding it hard to eliminate any fats from my diet.
I am very a very thin male weighing in at just 133Ibs (9.5 stone) at 6 2" tall, i find it incredibly hard to put any weight on and in trying to do so, my Acne worsens because of it.

I know i must eliminate my Candida infection, perhaps take a food intolerance test (before or after/both?) and try to regulate my hormones, but to eliminate fat from my diet does not sound a healthy option to me.

As anyone can see, i am frustrated and in need of being pointed in the right direction. I don't seem to be taken seriously with any doctors here in the UK, as GS is considered nothing to worry about, clearly not my case. Also if someone can suggest any remedies that may benefit me.

I may also add that i suffer some mild back & stomach pain.
A while back i over indulged & consumed too many peanuts, as a result i had stomach cramps daily with the severity more intense & by the 3rd day, really intense to a point where i could not stand and every part of my body ached, also lots of continuous vomiting. I don't appear to have an allergy to nuts (not in small amounts anyway) other than an outbreak in spots on my face (acne) probably due to nuts being indigestible and the heavy fat & oil content being overloaded & due to suffering from GS? Only had this that one time i overindulged in peanuts and the pain disappeared after i had no more to vomit.
The pains i get on a regular basis are a slight dull ache just at the front of my stomach, left side at the front and around hip height, especially after going to the toilet.
The back pain i get same place but at the back (so lower back pain). This i seem to get from standing still in the same place for too long or walking on uneven surfaces so not sure what the cause may be?
Being 6 tall and a bad posture?
Also a pain in my right shoulder blade, not sure if this is a trapped nerve, but the same pain and in the same place when i had the attack as explained above. I continue to get these pains and did so before the attack.
So anyone considering a reply, to neglect these pains being reflected on the attack but not in reference to GS.

Thanks to you all.
