Pretty sure Moonshine has been distilled in worse setups. The art comes in packing in material to stop the heavier distillates from condensing, therefore getting a better mouth feel of alcohol. This wouldn't be an issue for emergency antiseptic and tinctures...

I would imagine that adding steel wool (cleaned) to those trays would help to stop the heavier vapors from condensing and getting a slightly finer product but not sure this is needed unless you wanna have a party as well:)
