While many of us have some fantasy of
taking a bar of soap and our dirty undies
to the river to beat the dirt out of them,
I was fortunate to have been exposed to
a high tech gadget which really works well
for the task. A friend of mine bought one
of these while preparing for Y2K quite a
number of years back now. I found one a
couple of years ago during a trip to Sedona,
Arizona. I was in a thrift store and found
one in the box, new, for ten bucks.

It may not work for a large family but
then again, in a pinch, it may be easy
to pass around or do in small loads.
If you wish to opt for something bigger,
Lehmans (who does not LOVE Lehmans :)
has this model for purchase~~

Of course, one of our best investments has
been our solar dryer which is the clothesline
outdoors. We have a deluxe one with poles
anchored in the ground and plenty of wooden
clothespins~!

Here is a link to some info, but google
clothesline for more options~~
