I just did an ebay search and again no one is selling theirs. I'm pain free at 57 but can't attribute it to the water because I've done so much other stuff like deprenyl and raw foods. I do still have a slightly swollen prostate and slow urination but I can sleep all night without getting up.
The distiller cost me $350 when I got it and I had to replace the heater because I ran it dry then I put cold water in it and fractured the elements. It's not too noisy if I put the top on just right, which will speed up making 5 gallons from 10 hr to 8 1/2hr. Right now the propeller is broken. Replacement parts have been no problem.
The water that 1st comes out of the machine and the replacement heater taste like metallic iron or something and has each time taken up to 30 hrs of use to clear up and then it taste ok. I just use white vinegar to clean it and I make sure not to clean the heaters to much so there is a mineral deposit on it. Then the water has no taste at all. When making ice cubes occasionally I have little spikes growing out of them. When I 1st got it I put a cut leaf from the same plant in a bowl of tap and crystal water and the crystal one was swollen up twice as much.
It would be great deal if sold for under $200, which could easily be done by TV infomercial, since it is not so complex and only the size of a small pot. Which I don't think John can fugue out that he could make so much more money and not have to do any work by having a small Chinese company produce them, sell and service them and he justs collects the royalties. Just think it would be cheaper and better than any thing out there plus the company could offer a warranty and make improvements. Smart inventor but stupid businessman. I just don't understand why he doesn't want to make more money and take it easy.
I would recommend it as a good clean water distiller probably the best, but would be hard pressed to buy one for $1700 now.
