Humidifiers can also increase the moisture in your house, allowing mold counts to grow and directly causing difficulties in breathing because of allergies or asthma. Do some searches on candida and molds causing asthma and breathing problems. There's tons of info out there on the net. I know for a fact that using humidifiers in our home caused more harm than good. The asthma problems always worsened when we used the humidifier.
